Privacy Policy
Krugerpath keeps your data minimal: calculators run in your browser, and we never see the numbers you enter.
Calculators and your data
The position size and margin calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to our server. We do not see them, store them, or share them with anyone.
This means you can use the calculators without worrying about your trading amounts being tracked. The calculations happen on your device using the formulas we publish, and the result is shown on the same page.
What we collect
We collect only aggregate traffic counts, such as the number of visitors to a page. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personal information unless you choose to email us. An email you send to editor@krugerpath.com is stored only for replying to you.
We do not use third-party analytics that track you across the web. We do not sell or rent any data. We have no data to sell.
Cookies and local storage
We use local storage in your browser to remember your own preferences, such as a dark mode setting or the last calculator inputs. This data stays on your device and is never sent to us.
If you click an affiliate link and go to a broker's website, that broker may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We have no control over those cookies and we do not receive any personal data from them.
What this site stores and what it does not store
This site stores the smallest set of data needed to make the calculators and broker links work, and nothing that would identify you on its own. When you type numbers into a gold calculator, the calculation happens in your browser and the result is shown to you; the site does not save your position size, account balance, or the result. The only information kept is the anonymous preference that decides which regulation notice you see, and that is a simple on-or-off marker, not a profile.
The site does not store your name, email address, ID number, phone number, or physical address because it never asks for them. There is no account creation, no login, and no comment section, so there is no database of users. Payment details never touch this site: if you open a broker account through a link on this page, you go to the broker’s own site and enter your details there, under that broker’s privacy policy, not this one.
What the site does store is limited to a couple of small browser files and a bare minimum of server logs. The server sees your IP address and which pages you open, which is standard for any website, but this is kept only for security and to stop abuse, not to build a picture of you. Nothing you type into a calculator is ever written to a database or sent to a third party by this site, because the site is built to work without collecting that data.
Cookies set by this site and what each one is for
This site sets only a small number of cookies, and each one has a single clear job. The one you are most likely to notice stores your choice of regulator notice: when you first visit, you may see a message about FxPro’s FSCA licence, and if you dismiss it, a cookie remembers that so you are not shown the same notice on every page. Without that cookie, the notice would reappear on each visit, which would make the site harder to use.
A second cookie remembers simple display preferences, such as whether you have chosen a light or dark background for the calculators. This cookie contains no personal data and cannot be used to identify you; it only tells your browser to keep the same appearance on your next visit. If you delete cookies, the site simply forgets that preference and returns to its default look, which is a minor inconvenience and not a loss of any personal information.
The site does not set advertising cookies, social media cookies, or cross-site tracking cookies, because it does not run those services. There is no cookie that follows you to other websites, and no cookie that builds an interest profile of you. The cookies used here are first-party only, which means they are set by this domain and read only by this domain, and they expire or can be deleted at any time through your browser settings.
Affiliate tracking and how it is disclosed
This site may earn a commission if you open a trading account with FxPro through a link on this page, and that is the only affiliate relationship. The commission is paid by the broker, not by you, and it does not change the spreads, commissions, or any other cost you pay. The amount depends on the broker’s programme and is not something this site controls, but it is the reason some links are marked as affiliate links.
When you click a link to FxPro, the link contains a small tracking code that tells the broker you came from this site. That code does not include any personal information about you; it is simply a label that lets the broker know which website referred you. The broker may then place its own cookies on your device, but that happens on the broker’s domain and is covered by the broker’s privacy policy, not this one.
This site does not track your trading activity, your profit or loss, or your account balance after you leave. The affiliate tracking stops once you land on the broker’s site, and this site never sees your broker account details. The disclosure here is plain: links to FxPro are affiliate links, and if you prefer not to use them, you can type the broker’s address directly into your browser and the site will not know either way.
Third parties that receive data from this site
The only third party that receives a referral from this site is FxPro, and that happens only when you click a broker link. The information sent is the fact that you arrived from this site, plus whatever the broker’s own systems collect from your browser, such as your IP address and device type. This site does not send your calculator inputs, your cookies, or any personal details to FxPro, because it does not have those details to send.
This site uses no external analytics service, no advertising network, and no social media plugins, so those companies receive nothing from your visit. The server that hosts this site necessarily sees your IP address and the pages you request, because that is how the internet works, but the hosting provider is bound by its own data processing terms and does not use that data for marketing. There is no data sharing agreement beyond that technical necessity.
If you deposit money with FxPro after clicking through, your payment details go directly to the payment processor used by the broker, not through this site. This site never sees your card number, bank account details, or e-wallet credentials, because the transaction happens entirely on the broker’s side. The broker may share data with its regulators or service providers as required, but that is outside this site’s control and is described in FxPro’s own privacy policy.
Your rights under South African data protection law and how to use them
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you have the right to ask what personal information this site holds about you, and the honest answer is almost always none. Because this site does not collect your name, contact details, or identification, there is usually no personal information to provide. If you believe a server log entry containing your IP address qualifies, you can ask for a copy, and the site will explain what is in that log and why it is kept.
You also have the right to request correction or deletion of any personal information, and you can do that by emailing the address in the site’s contact section. Since the site stores no user accounts, there is nothing to delete beyond cookies, which you can clear yourself in your browser at any time. If you have concerns about data held by FxPro after you click through, you must contact FxPro directly, because this site has no access to that data and cannot change or delete it.
If you believe this site has not handled your information correctly, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, which oversees POPIA compliance. The regulator’s contact details are published on its official website, and you do not need a lawyer to lodge a complaint. This site is designed to minimise personal data from the start, so most rights requests will be met with the answer that there is little or nothing to act on.
Cookies set by this site and what each kind is for
This site sets exactly two types of cookies: one essential cookie that remembers whether you clicked accept or decline on the cookie banner, and one optional analytics cookie that we only place if you explicitly agree. The essential cookie lasts 12 months and contains no personal data, just a yes or no flag.
The optional analytics cookie, if you accept it, lets us count page views and see which articles are read, but it does not track you across other websites or build an advertising profile. We deliberately do not use marketing or retargeting cookies, so you will not see Krugerpath ads following you around the internet.
No third-party cookies are set by this site, and the broker links to FxPro do not drop a Krugerpath cookie on your device. If you reject all cookies, the site still works fully: the calculators run, the articles load, and the only difference is we will not know you visited unless you tell us.
Affiliate tracking stated plainly
When you click a broker link on this site, the link contains an affiliate identifier that tells FxPro you came from Krugerpath. If you then open an account, FxPro may pay us a commission, but this does not change the spreads, commissions, or swaps you pay, and it never increases your costs in rands.
The tracking is done with a simple parameter in the URL, not with cookies or fingerprinting, and it expires when you close the browser tab. We do not see your name, email, or account number from the click, and we cannot tell whether a specific reader opened an account or only looked at the FxPro site.
This affiliate relationship is the only way Krugerpath earns money, and it is disclosed on every page that contains broker links. You can avoid the tracking entirely by typing fxpro.com directly into your browser, but if you do, we earn nothing and the broker’s terms for you stay exactly the same.
